Lillian S. "Lil" Wilson, 92, of Quakertown, formerly of Doylestown and Perkasie, passed away Tuesday, March 23 in her son's residence, Quakertown. She was the wife of the late William V. Z. Wilson, Jr.
Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Lillian (Kelling) Stirling.
Lil had been employed as a time study clerk with the US Gauge Division, Ametek Inc., Sellersville for over 25 years before retiring n 1976. She had previously worked in a bullet factory in Chicago during WW II and had volunteered to wrap bandages during the war.
She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie for over 50 years. She was also a charter member of the former Pennridge BPW Club. An avid volunteer, Lil was recognized for over 20 years of volunteering at the Pierce Free Library Thrift Shop, Perkasie. She also volunteered at: the Lutheran Community at Telford; the Pearl S. Buck Gift Shop, Perkasie and the Quakertown Hospital.
She is survived by two sons: William V. Z. Wilson, III and his wife Gale Hewitt of East Rockhill Township and Don Wilson of Quakertown; one daughter: Leslie W. Fitzpatrick of Pipersville; nine grandchildren: Karen, William IV, Maureen, Jill, Ann, Dawn, Scott, Kathryne and Erin; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren: David Wilson and Jennifer Fitzpatrick.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service to be held Saturday afternoon, April 3 at 3:00 PM in Deep Run Presbyterian Church, 16 Irish Meetinghouse Road (Elephant Road & Route 113), Bedminster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either St. Luke's Hospice, 1021 Park Avenue, Quakertown, PA 18951 or the Bucks County Free Library, Samuel Pierce Branch, 491 Arthur Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944.
