Marjorie Mae (Weikel) Wetzel, of the Rockhill Mennonite Community, Sellersville, formerly of Souderton, passed away in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township, on Thursday, December 27. She was 86.
She was the beloved wife of the late John E. Wetzel for 60 years, until his death in 2008.
Born in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late James Russell and Marion E. (Krauss) Weikel. Marge was a 1944 graduate of Quakertown High School, where she was an athlete, lettering in softball, field hockey, and basketball.
Mrs. Wetzel was a homemaker.
She was a long-time member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.
Marge enjoyed reading and spending time with her Rockhill Community friends. A dedicated wife and mother, she always had a positive attitude, meeting her physical challenges with dignity and grace.
Mrs. Wetzel is survived by her two children: Gerald R. Wetzel and his wife, Susan, of Lakeland, FL; Anne W. Reustle and her husband, Michael, of Hilltown Township; a sister, Mary Hallman, of Telford; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, in the Rockhill Mennonite Community Chapel, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, PA 18960. The family will greet visitors following the service.
Interment will be conducted in St. Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
