Melvin J. "Weasel" Weaver of Quakertown, formerly of Sellersville, passed away early Sunday morning, October 13, 2002, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was 57.
He was the husband of Patricia S. (Politz) Weaver. They were married 37 years.
Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Ethel (Fenstermacher) Weaver of Bethlehem and the late George M. Weaver.
Mr. Weaver had lived in Sellersville for 14 years. He had resided in Quakertown since 1979. He had been employed for more than 29 years as a chip per/grinder in the Ingot Mold Department of Bethlehem Steel
before retiring in 1994.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with a missile bat talion in Italy during the early years of the Vietnam War.
He was of the Lutheran faith and also a Reiki master. A believer in spiritual studies, he practiced crystal healing along with the power of the stones and balancing of the chakras.
Mr. Weaver was a member of . the American Legion, Quaker town, the Steel City Gun Club, Bethlehem and the Retirees Breakfast Club of Bethlehem Steel.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Stacey Anne Weaver of Quakertown; a brother, George W. Weaver and his wife, Jean, of Allentown; and many nieces and nephews. He also is survived by two "grandcats," Woody and Mitten.
His funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 18, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 N. Main St., Sellersville, where family and friends may call after 11:30.
Interment will be in Sellersville
