Wallace Rowland Choate passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Community at Telford on August 12, 2025, at the age of 90.
He was the husband of Marlene (Gressel) Choate, with whom he had shared 34 years of marriage. Wallace lost his first wife, Patricia (Tierney) Choate, in 1989, after 34 years of marriage.
Born on April 28, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Wallace and Elsie (Fest) Choate.
Wallace attended the Dobbins School in Philadelphia and then did odd jobs in his early years before becoming a butcher. He remained in northeast Philadelphia until 1969, when he moved his family to Fairview Village, PA. He worked as a mechanical draftsman at Wiedeman Division in King of Prussia, PA. In 1992, his company moved to North Carolina, where he lived until his retirement, and then moved back to Perkasie, PA.
He enjoyed fishing and crabbing in Forked River, NJ, where he had a house for many years. He had especially enjoyed time spent there with his brother, Bob. Wallace was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies sports fan.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Choate is survived by his two daughters: Dorothy Shupard and her husband, James, of Pottstown, PA and Patricia McCreary, of St. Cloud, FL; one sister, Anne M., of Pottstown, PA; five grandchildren: Jennifer, Gregory, Patrick, Connor, and Holly; and nine great-grandchildren: Devin, Hannah, Nina, Dylan, Vyla, Henry, Mykala, Aubriellelies, and Nikiah.
In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Wallace Choate III, his grandson, Jeffrey, and a brother, Robert.
His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025, in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944, with a viewing before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. In honor of Wallace, guests are welcome to wear their favorite Phillies or Eagles sports jersey.
Interment will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.
