Myra M. Walbert, 87, a resident of Perkasie for over 50 years, passed away Saturday, July 31 in Chester County Hospital, West Chester. She was the wife of the late Lloyd W. Walbert who died in 1990.
Born in Hilltown Township, she was a daughter of the late Arthur B. and Laura (Smith) Moyer. She was a graduate of both Hilltown and Sell-Perk High Schools.
Mrs. Walbert had been employed for many years in the weighing department of the meat packing plant of the former C.D. Moyer's, Silverdale.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol A. Walbert of West Chester. In addition to her husband, she was preceded her in death by her twin brother, Ira S. Moyer and a sister, Marion Aschenbach.
She was a life-long member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie where she had taught Sunday School and was a former member of the choir. She was also a member of the church's WELCA group and had volunteered to fold church bulletins and newsletters and had delivered items to the shut-ins.
Mrs. Walbert enjoyed cooking and loved preparing meals to entertain guests.
Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 4 at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Dill Avenue and Chestnut Street, Perkasie. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning, from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will be in Tohickon Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
