Donald M. Trauger of Sellersville passed away Monday, July 25, 2005, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was 74.
He was the husband of Bette L. (Senior) Trauger. They were married 20 years. Born in Perkasie, he was the son of the late Miriam (Mann) Trauger.
Don had been employed for 42 years by U.S. Gauge Division, Ametek Inc., Sellersville, before retiring in 1993.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the U .S.S. Albany.
He was a 47-year member of Sellersville Fire Department, where he was a past trustee and a mainstay in the kitchen,' preparing food for banquets, ham dinners, luncheons, breakfasts and carnivals. Don was also a member of Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 255, Sellersville; the Sellersville Moose 1539 and its R.A.C. Club; the Perkasie Owls and the Great Swamp Fish and Game Club, Quakertown.
Don enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially liked hunting around his house in Rome, Pa., where he enjoyed spending time with his friends in Bradford County.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children: James D. Trauger; Kenneth Trauger and his wife, Debbie; David Trauger and his wife, Cindy, all of East Rockhill Town¬ship; Donna J. Gibson and her husband, Mark, of Perkasie; Jerry Beck and his wife, Leigh, of Hilltown Township; Cara L. Harris and her husband, Michael, of East Rockhill Town¬ship, and Jodi L. Wolfgang and her husband, James, of Boyertown; one brother, Richard Trauger and his wife, Marcella, of Sellersville; one sister, Ilene King of York; 19 grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Honey.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Jean (Hendricks) Trauger; a brother, William, and a grandson, Christopher Trauger.
His funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 28, in the Sellersville Fire House, 2 N. Main St., Sellersville, where friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m.
Interment will be held privately.
The family requests everyone to attend Don's viewing and funeral in casual dress. All are invited to a light supper reception immediately following the funeral in the Fire House Hall.
