Catherine Tashchuk

July 26, 1917 — October 7, 2002

Catherine Tashchuk, 85, of Perkasie, formerly of Kreidersville and North Port, Florida, passed away Monday, October 7 in her home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Ilko Tashchuk who died in 1985.

Born in Mallet, Brazil she was a daughter of the late Vasille and Paraskevla (Dobrowolsky) Sak. She had lived in Perkasie for the last 4 years.

Mrs. Tashchuk had been previously employed as a seamstress, but she was a homemaker most of her life. She had worked for the Ukrainian Catholic Church in North Port, Florida and was one of the key members who organized and established the parish in North Port. She was an active volunteer helping people in the Ukraine. She often shipped packages and financial support to families and communities in Brazil and the Ukraine.

She was a member of Presentation of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, Lansdale.

She is survived by one son, Bohdan Tashchuk and his wife, Linda, Portland, Oregon; two grandchildren: Larissa and Natalie Tashchuk, both of Portland, OR and one sister, Theophilia Petryk and her husband, Elias with whom she resided in Perkasie. She also has one brother and several sisters in Brazil.

Family and Friends are invited to attend her viewing in the vestibule of Presentation of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1564 Allentown Road, Lansdale on Thursday, October 10 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday in the church.

Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, South Boundbrook, New Jersey.
