Elsie A. Swierzewski, 77, a resident of Sellersville for over fifty years, joined her husband in eternal life, Monday afternoon, February 12, in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown.. She was the beloved wife of Matthew J. Swierzewski, who died May 8, 1992.
Born in Trumbauersville, she was a daughter of the late Akiton and Anastasia (Marchewka) Wolownik. She was a 1947 graduate of Quakertown High School.
She had been employed for over 25 years in the Business Office of Grand View Hospital, Sellersville.
She was an avid gardener and lawn manicurist. She enjoyed walking in the park, and caring for birds and other wildlife. A doting grandmother, Elsie’s greatest joy was spending time with her four grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where she was active with the CYAA. She was also a volunteer with the Sellersville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two children: Matthew A. Swierzewski and his wife Rachel R., Sellersville; and Susan Kearney, Brookfield, CT; four grandsons: Patrick Kearney and Matthew Kearney, both of Brookfield, CT; and Gregory Swierzewski and Timothy Swierzewski, both of Sellersville ; and one brother: Louis Wolownik and his wife Elsie of Zion Hill.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 15, at 10: 30 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Thursday morning at the church from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery.
