Mabel H. Souder, 98, a life-long resident of Perkasie, passed away Monday morning, January 15, in Quakertown Center-Genesis Healthcare Facility, Quakertown. She was the wife of the late Clarence W. Souder.
Born in South Perkasie, she was the daughter of the late Addison and Mary (Rosenberger) Hendricks. Mabel was a graduate of Perkasie High School and the Taylor Business School, Philadelphia.
She had been employed for over 38 years as an inspector with the former Freed's Glass Factory, Perkasie. Prior to that, she had been a secretary with the U.S. Gauge, Sellersville.
Mabel was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Perkasie, where she had sung in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a volunteer with the Pennridge FISH and Meals on Wheels, Perkasie.
A deeply religious women, she enjoyed crocheting, crafts, tatting, embroidery, reading and jigsaw puzzles.
Mabel is survived by her son, James R. Souder, and his wife, Lenore, Perkasie; five grandchildren: Karen Badger, Okeana, Ohio ; Jeffery Souder, Sellersville; Steve Souder, Boyertown: Sandra Souder, Erwinna: and Christi Clarey, and her husband, Bob, Cincinnati, Ohio; three great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Aspen, and Wesley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jack Souder; a daughter, Shirley Souder; and her brother, Ralph Hendricks.
Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 19 at 11:00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be held in South Perkasie Evangelical Cemetery, Perkasie.
