Shirley A. Marles

Shirley A. Marles, of Telford, PA, formerly a longtime resident of Perkasie, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the Lutheran Community at Telford. She was 95.

She was the high school sweetheart and then the beloved wife of the late Frederick Arthur Marles for 56 years until his death in 2008.

Born in Lansdale and raised in Tylersport, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Eva (Nyce) Allebach. Shirley was a graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Class of 1948.

Although primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Marles had also been employed in the Grand View Hospital daycare center after her own children were grown.

A longtime, active member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, Mrs. Marles had volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, a Catechetical Class teacher, and as a member of the Christian Education Committee and Church Council. She had also sung in the Funeral Choir.

An accomplished artist, Shirley loved painting and was a gifted water colorist. Family and friends cherish “Shirley-crafted” notecards and paintings gifted to them.

An avid gardener, she also enjoyed watching Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies and Eagles. In her youth, she was an accomplished athlete, excelling in softball and tennis.

Shirley was a woman of great faith, with a kindness and generosity of spirit that she extended to all. Her gentle smile, warm welcoming manner, and gracious character were the outward reflections of a truly well-lived life.

Mrs. Marles is survived by her three sons: Blake Marles and his wife Marilyn, of Macungie, PA, Blaine Marles and his wife Brenda, of Perkasie, PA, and Mark Marles and his wife Jaclyn, of Wake Forest, NC; eight grandchildren: Adam, Kira, Lindsay, Andrew, Steven, Justin, Kaelan, and Avery; and seven great- grandchildren: Emerson, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Corbett, Barrett, Caroline, and Brynnlee.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Barndt, and two brothers, Warren Allebach and Paul Allebach.

A visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, in the Fireplace Room, St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944. Her Memorial Service will follow at 2:30 p.m.
