William H. Scott, 86, of Sellersville, passed away at his residence on Friday, December 16. He was the beloved husband for 59 years of Muriel (Hopkins) Scott. He also leaves behind a family of five children: Gary W. Scott and his wife, Barbara; Gregory J. Scott and his wife, Terri; Glenn G. Scott and his wife, Bridget; Gerald L. Scott and his wife, Patricia; and Rebecca Ann (Scott) Lee and her husband, Larry; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Born on March 22, 1919, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Dr. John C. and Florence (Fry) Scott. Bill received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and spent his career researching, designing, experimenting and following through with the fabrication of his many inventions and patents.
He was a US Army veteran having served during World War II.
Bill was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sellersville. He was a Mason and a life member of the Richard Vaux - Ivanhoe Lodge No. 384, F & A.M., Philadelphia. He was also a member and past-president of the Pennsylvania Live Steamers, Inc., Rahns.
A true 'jack of all trades", there was not anything he could fix. Bill's interests included live steam locomotives, photography, video film production, sailing, gardening, home improvements, electronics, computers, composting, and more recently, designing his own medical diagnostic equipment as his life drew to conclusion.
A wonderful loving, one of a kind husband, father and grandfather, his humor, boundless energy, zest for life and insatiable appetite for knowledge and learning, will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville or St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 104 Green Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
