Lorraine E. Schuster

August 14, 1935 — February 3, 2003

Lorraine E. Schuster, 67, of Sellersville, passed away Monday, February 3 in her home with her immediate family and close friends by her side. She was the wife of the late Norman "Shorty" Schuster who died January 31,2001.

Born in Shelly, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Emma E. (Kelly) Hillegas. She was the step-daughter of Alfred E. Kramer of Sellersville. She had been a resident of Sellersville since 1962.

Lorraine had been employed for over 20 years with Bucks County Government, most recently as the Recorder of Deeds before retiring in October 1998. Previously she was employed as a waitress with the Perkasie Owls Club and the former Pittman's Bar, Hatfield and as hostess/waitress with the former Emil's Diner, Sellersville. She also had worked for the former deLoux Sweater Factory, Sellersville.

She was a longtime Executive Committee woman for the Republican Party and was a fixture at the Sellersville Polls along with her husband.

Lorraine was also a former member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 125, Doylestown and a charter member of the Citizens Flag Alliance.

She and her husband faced many difficult times as they coped with the tragic loss of a son, and again as they each had their own health concerns. Throughout it all, Lorraine was always able to smile and make others laugh.
