Emma P. Schluben, 92, of Bethlehem, formerly of Sellersville, passed away Sunday morning, June 17, in Cedarbrook Fountain Hill Annex, Fountain Hill, PA. She was the wife of the late Fred Schluben, who died in 1968.
Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Emilie (Haller) Weller. She came to this country in 1926.
Mrs. Schluben had lived in Sellersville for many years, where she and her husband owned and operated the former Fritz Cut Rate Store for over 30 years. She moved to Bethlehem in the mid-1980's.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. She was a former longtime member of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville.
Mrs. Schluben is survived by a daughter, E. Fay Mitchell, and her husband. L. William, Bethlehem; one son, Robert W. Schluben, Lenexa, Kansas; and two brothers: Otto Wied, and his wife, Ruth, Perkasie and Walter Wied, Sellersville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a young son, Lamar F. ,and a young daughter, Mary Lou. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Karl Wied, and a grandson, John Schluben.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, June 20, at 11 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
Interment in Sellersville Cemetery.
