Robert J. Weidemoyer

Robert “Rob” Joseph Weidemoyer, of Perkasie, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, after a courageous 19-year battle with lymphoma. He was 66.

Born in Sellersville, PA, Rob was the son of the late Robert Irwin and Theresa Anne (Laverick) Weidemoyer.

Rob is survived by his loving wife, Nina (Flores) Weidemoyer; his daughter, Victoria Sgroi, and her husband, Giacamo; his son, Adam, and his wife, Phara; his stepchildren, Timothy John and Brittney Danielle; his sister, Pamela Wulterkens; and his brother, Dennis Weidemoyer, and his wife, Jane. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Massimo, Valentina, Sammy, Simon, and Cayden, of whom he was incredibly proud.

Rob had worked at Merck for more than 36 years, serving in several divisions and taking particular pride in his work in the vaccine division. His colleagues respected and trusted him, and many turned to Rob not only for professional advice but also for his knowledge and guidance on retirement and financial matters.

Even throughout his long illness, Rob never wanted his disease to define him. He was far more interested in how everyone else was doing than in dwelling on his own challenges.

A diehard fan of Pittsburgh sports, especially the Penguins and Pirates, he held a particular admiration for Roberto Clemente.

Rob also had a lifelong passion for cars. One of his first was a 1970 AMC Javelin, and over the years he owned and showed a number of special cars, including a Shelby Cobra, a 1931 Ford Model A hot rod, and, most recently, his beloved 1970 AMC AMX. He traveled to car shows with the AMX and earned several gold awards through the AMO National club. His Shelby Cobra also earned numerous trophies and appeared in local parades.

Just as important to Rob as showing his own cars was helping other members of his local AMX community. He could often be found polishing, fixing, improving, or simply offering advice to a fellow enthusiast.

Rob had plenty of other interests as well. He enjoyed antiquing and collecting antiques, target shooting, and even hog hunting in the Carolinas. Yes, hog hunting. That was Rob.

He was also a member of his local Moose Lodge and the North Penn Gun Club.

Rob had a deep interest in genealogy as well and spent considerable time researching both sides of his family, preserving historic photographs and old family films along the way. He also enjoyed telling people, with no small amount of pride, that he was the twelfth cousin of Elvis Presley.

Rob was a selfless, loving, and generous man who cared deeply for his family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who needed a helping hand. He was a real character, always quick with a joke and ready to lend a hand at a moment’s notice. Helping others simply came naturally to him.

Rob will be remembered for his generosity, humor, loyalty, curiosity, and willingness to help others. He loved his family deeply and brought a great deal of personality, laughter, and kindness to the lives of those who knew him.
