Charles A. Riley

March 2, 1910 — September 25, 2003

Charles A. Riley, 93, of Sellersville, formerly of Olney (Philadelphia) and Fox Chase Manor (Abington Township), entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 25 in the Rockhill Mennonite Community Nursing Center, West Rockhill Township. He was the beloved husband of Margaret E. (Carson) Riley. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on October 8, 2002.

Born in Philadelphia on March 2, 1910, he was the son of the late Charles and Eugenia (Weilenbeck) Riley.

Mr. Riley had been employed for many years as the senior design engineer for PhilcolFord, Philadelphia, where he was known as "Pat - the Bridge Playing Ace".

He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.

Mr. Riley had played baseball for the former Olney Orioles and had served as Den Master for Cub Pack 109 at St. Helena's Church, Olney. While living in Fox Chase Manor, he was very active in planning activities with the "ARCATS" (the local retired citizens group). During World War II he had served as an Air Raid Warden in Olney.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Jeanne Smith of Warrington; Margery Stumpfrock, Bedminster; Kathleen Lear of Rehoboth Beach, DE; three sons: Charles of Fripp Island, South Carolina; John of Ambler and Patrick of Reno, Nevada; 17 Grandchildren and 27 Great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 29 at 10:30 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Monday morning, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the church.

Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery.
