Carmen Maria Paris; 63, of Sellersville, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Friday evening, August 27 in her residence.
Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, she had lived and worked in Philadelphia for many years before recently moving to Sellersville.
Carmen was a presser with a Dry Cleaner in Philadelphia for over 20 years. She was an avid Bingo player who had a good sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. She was a strong woman who enjoyed music, travel and her beloved family.
She was a Catholic by faith.
She is survived by six children: three sons: Roger Shoemaker and his wife, Yolanda of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; Eduardo Velasquez and George Anthony Velasquez, both of New York City, NY; three daughters: Catherine Velasquez of Springfield, MA; Barbara Ocasio and her life partner, Colleen Ryan of Sellersville; and Roasario Ocasio of the Bronx, New York City, NY; one brother: Antonio Paris of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; one sister: Ana Marin and her husband, Hector Marchi of Springfield, MA; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 1 at 11:00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home, from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and on Wednesday morning, from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
Interment in Sellersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 700 Horizon Circle, Suite 201, Chalfont, PA 18914.
