Roland Ottinger

February 12, 1919 — March 14, 2007

Roland Ottinger, 88, of the Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Township, formerly a 54-year resident of East Rockhill Township , passed away Wednesday, March 14, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Slotter) Ottinger. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this July.

Born in Erwinna, he was the son of the late Frank T., Sr. and Annie (George) Ottinger.

Mr. Ottinger had been employed as a tool and die maker, initially with the former V & M Tool Company, Perkasie and then 34 years with the U.S. Gauge Division, AMETEK, Inc., Sellersville, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Quakertown.

Mr. Ottinger drew up the plans and built his family's home in East Rockhill. An avid gardener, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: James Ottinger and his wife, Susan, of Douglassville; Richard Ottinger and his wife, Terry, of East Greenville; Charles Ottinger and his wife, Kimberly, of Lehighton; and one daughter, Kathy Ottinger, of Perkasie; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great- grandson, Nicholas James Ottinger, and two brothers, George and Frank Ottinger, Jr., and one sister, Mary Schrantz.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA 18944.
