Robert A. Obringer, 80, of Harleysville, formerly of Wayne, NJ, passed away Thursday evening, December I5 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Hart) Obringer for 21 years.
Born on March 31, 1925, in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late Adam C. and Florence E. (Jacobsen) Obringer. He graduated from Dickinson High School, Jersey City and Pace College, New York.
He served in the US Air Force from October 1943 to August 1945, and later attended the University of Georgia.
Bob was Senior Vice President of Palisades Savings and Loan Association, Ridgefield Park, NJ, from 1953 - 1984. Upon retirement he worked for Younger & Son, Lansdale from 1991 -1998.
He was a member of the Perkasie Historical Society and had attended the Limerick Chapel, Limerick. He was a past president of both the Kiwanis Club and Chamber of Commerce in Wayne, NJ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Steve and his wife, Linda, Wanaque, NJ; Robert and his wife, Marlee, Wayne, NJ; one daughter: Lynn Obringer and her husband, Joe Petrick, Wayne, NJ; five grandchildren; three step-children; six step grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; previous wife, Veronica Obringer, Wayne, and his beloved dog, Cleo.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
