Bertha Ellen (Vogt) Mcmurray

Bertha Ellen "Bert" McMurray of Heritage Towers, Doylestown, passed away Thursday morning, June 19, 2003, in Doylestown Hospital. She was 84.

She was the wife of Wendel S. McMurray who died in 1998.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Ellen (Jacquette) Vogt. She had lived in Doylestown for nearly 40 years.

A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. McMurray had been­ employed for several years with Sears, Philadelphia, and later with the Village Barn, Furlong, and Penny's Flowers, Glenside. She also had become a licensed beautician, but she spent most of her time raising her children and grandchildren.

She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Doylestown, where she had been a member of the Ladies of Mount Carmel. Mrs. McMurray was an avid golfer and was a former
member of Oak Terrace Country Club, Ambler. She also enjoyed gardening and reading.

Mrs. McMurray is survived by a son, Michael D. McMurray, and his wife, Marybeth, of Sellersville; five grandchildren: Megan Tandy Brennan and her husband, Kevin, of Chalfont; Shannon Tandy Shepard and her husband, Jim, of Doylestown; Brian McMurray of Boulder, Colo.; Kyle Tandy and his fiance, Molly Short, of Hatfield, and Colleen Koch of Sellersville; her great-granddaughters, Rebecca Brennan and Tricia Shepard; and a son­ in-law, Michael Tandy, of Chalfont. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Tandy, who died in 1990 and her brother, Raymond Vogt.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901. After Mass, family and friends are invited to attend a
remembrance reception to be held at 11:30 a.m, in Heritage Towers, 200 Veterans Lane, Doylestown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ladies of Mount Carmel, c/o Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at the above address.
