Ethel M. McElhare, 93, of Quakertown, formerly of Penndel, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2000, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the wife of the late Joseph McElhare, who died in 1960.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Harrison T. and Hannah Conley. She had moved to Penndel in 1930 and had lived there most of her life, until moving to Quakertown in 1993.
Mrs. McElhare was a homemaker all of her life.
She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Penndel. She was also a member of the former World War II Mothers of South Langhorne.
Mrs. McElhare is survived by: three sons, John J. McElhare and his wife, Shirley, Levittown; Harry J. McElhare and his wife, Lorraine, Sellersville, and Dennis J. McElhare and his wife, Dorothy, Lancaster; one daughter, Shirley, wife of Edgar "Marty" Martindell, Doylestown; one sister, Mell Sawyer, Philadelphia; also 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 15, at 10:00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Friends and relatives may call from 9:00 AM until 9:50 AM, Tuesday in the church.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church at the above address or Grand View Hospital, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
