Joseph F. Lokay, 81, of White Plains, New York, formerly of Perkasie, passed away on Friday, August 29 in White Plains Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Agnes (Tutka) Lokay. He had lived in Perkasie until 1940 when he entered the service.
Mr. Lokay was a World War II veteran having served in the Air Force.
He had been employed as a maintenance engineer with a hospital in Spokane, Washington. He later moved to White Plains, NY where he worked for many years in the technical library of IBM, White Plains, up until his retirement.
Mr. Lokay had attended St. Peter's Tohickon United Church of Christ, Perkasie.
He is survived by two brothers: Louis J. Lokay and his wife, Katherine, and Alexander Lokay and his wife, Victoria, all of Perkasie; two sisters: Virginia Gross and her husband, Ray of Sellersville and Caroline Musselman of Perkasie; one sister-in-law, Arlene Lokay of Sellersville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: John, Leonard and his twin brother, Stanley; and three sisters: Stella Bayer, Pauline Veneziale and Agnes Romig.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Wednesday, September 17 at 11:30 AM in Sellersville Cemetery, East Church Street, Sellersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Tohickon United Church of Christ, 1071 Old Bethlehem Road, Perkasie, PA 18944.
