Lillian V. Leecan, 71, of Perkasie, passed away Monday, January 16, 2006 in the Emergency Room of St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfred Leecan, Jr.
Born in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Anna Helen (Simms) Jones. She and her sister were the first pair of twin babies born in Quakertown Hospital, which her father helped to build. She was born and died in the same hospital.
Lillian was a devoted mother and homemaker all of her life. She had been employed for over 20 years as a resident advisor for mentally challenged adults with Community Foundation, now known as LifePath in Sellersville.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.
Lillian is survived by two daughters: Barbara Marie Leecan, Philadelphia and Elizabeth "Lisa" Helman, Perkasie; three sons: Christopher Leecan, address unknown; Alfred Leecan and Joseph Leecan, both of Coopersburg; two brothers: Robert Joseph Jones, Lansdale; Elwood J. Jones, Quakertown; two sisters: Berenice E. Jones, Quakertown and her twin sister, Kathryn Yumul, Lansdale; and sixteen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen "Heidi" Leecan; one sister, Helen Jones and three brothers: George, William and John Jones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 20 at 10:00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. There are no calling hours.
Interment will be held in the adjacent parish cemetery.
