Steven J. Kish, Sr., 68, of Sellersville, formerly of Levittown, passed away surrounded by his family at his residence, Friday morning, August 11. He was the beloved husband of Rose Bridget (Maginn) Kish. They were married 25 years.
Born in Oneida, PA, he was the son of the late Louis and Julia (Molnar) Kish.
He was a US Army veteran.
A sheet metal worker and roofer, Steve had been employed by the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 19, Philadelphia and the Jim and John Green Company, Conshohocken, for over 40 years before retiring in 2000.
Steve was a life-member of the Sellersville Fire Department, where he was an active firefighter, and more recently, a member of the Fire Police, serving as Sergeant. He helped in the fire company kitchen with bingo, breakfasts, ham dinners and carnivals.
He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where he helped cook and serve monthly congregational meals. He was also a member of the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 255, Sellersville, and the Elk's Lodge, Mountainside, NJ.
In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by three sons: Steven J. Kish, Jr. and his wife, Catherine Levittown; Michael John Strus, Quakertown; Phillip Neal Strus, Perkasie; one daughter, Christina Marie Walton and her husband, Raymond, Levittown; two brothers: Louis Kish and his wife, Rita, Hazleton; Robert Kish and his wife, Lorraine, Grand Island, Florida; two sisters: Margaret DeFrancisco and her husband, Angelo, Bethlehem; Rose Klingerman and her husband, William, Levittown; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; his dogs: Buffy and Serena; and his cat, Mitzi. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alex, and a sister, Joan Grohol.
