Thomas P. Hogan

August 26, 1922 — August 3, 2005

Thomas P. Hogan, 82, of Sellersville, formerly of Ansonia, CT, passed into eternal rest after a brief illness, Wednesday, August 3, in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital, Quakertown. He was the husband of Shirley (Parsons) Hogan.

Born in Shelton, CT, he was a son of the late James and Ellen (Cunningham) Hogan.

He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had fought in the battle of Okinawa with the 713th Tank Battalion (flame throwers) and was the recipient of the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart.

Tom received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.

He had been employed for over 26 years with the Uniroyal Corporation, Naugatuck, CT, retiring in 1976 as controller. He had also served as the Town Treasurer for Seymour, CT. He later was controller with the 7UP Bottling Company, Meriden, CT and, then, controller for the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Philadelphia.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1236, Shelton, CT and the American Legion Warren Royer Post 234, Souderton.

Tom enjoyed traveling, especially to Saratoga Springs, NY. He loved the company of family and friends, who will deeply miss him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Thomas, Jr., Ronald, and Christopher; one stepdaughter, Gerry Bohdan; two brothers, William and Edward; a sister, Marge Carroll; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Vera (Jupin) Hogan and siblings: James, Hugh, John, Marion, Katherine, and Helen.

The Hogan family wishes to thank the staff of St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital for their dedicated care and love of Tom.

Services will be private.
