Elsie A. Hebhardt, of Telford, formerly a 60 year resident of Sellersville, passed away at her residence in the Lutheran Community at Telford, on Thursday, July 12, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Edward F. Hebhardt for 71 years. She was 90.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Clara (Gabel) LeVan. She was a graduate of Reading Senior High School.
She was a homemaker all of her life.
Elsie was a long-time, active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where she had been a member of the Silver and Gold Club and the “Piece-makers” quilting group. She had helped with the church Christmas Bazaar for over 50 years. Elsie had also volunteered at the rectory and in the kitchen for many years.
A music lover, she enjoyed classical music and opera. She had played the piano, and, in her youth, Elsie had played the cello in high school. She especially liked quilting and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hebhardt is survived by a son, Jon Hebhardt, and his wife, Mary Ann, of Tiverton, Rhode Island; a daughter, Gail Ricci, and her husband, Robert, of Madison, Alabama; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Ambrose LeVan, of Freehold, New Jersey; and a sister, Anna Mae Lynch, of Reading.
Elsie was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Groves, and three sisters: Emma Ringler, Helen Fake and Laura Zimmerman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call from 9 to 9:50a.m. on Tuesday morning at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Elsie’s name to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 or the American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 403, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
