Frederick Handrich IV, 62, of Harleysville, (Montgomery County) PA, formerly of Guttenberg, NJ and Marlboro, NJ, died Sunday evening, October 8 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township (Bucks County), PA. He was the husband of Nancy (Scher) Handrich. They had celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past May.
Born in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late Frederick, III and Helen (Merkle) Handrich. He and his wife have lived in Harleysville since February of this year.
Fred had served in the Army National Guard.
He was employed in the garment industry for all of his adult life. Fred was Senior Vice-President of Heather Hill Sportswear, New York City for eighteen years. Most recently, after he retired, he worked as a greeter at the WalMart in Harleysville.
Fred was a former member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Freehold, New Jersey and Trinity Episcopal Church, Cliffside Park, New Jersey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Rick Handrich, and his wife, Mary Beth, Pennington, NJ; one daughter, Marie, wife of Bob Kramer, Lansdale; and three grandchildren: Catherine, Sean and Molly, all of Pennington, NJ.
Fred was cremated, and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2000, at 11:00 AM in Trinity Episcopal Church, 555 Palisade Avenue, Cliffside Park, New Jersey.
