Lawrence Gular, 90, of Sellersville, formerly of Doylestown, passed away in his sleep Wednesday, May 12, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Emma (Prentice) Gular. They were married 57 years.
Born in New Galena, he was the son of the late Joseph and Paulina (Wolnar) Gular.
He and his wife have lived in Sellersville for the last seven years after residing for over 48 years in Doylestown.
Larry had owned and operated his own service station, "Larry's Mobil" in Doylestown for over 24 years, retiring in 1976. He later was employed as a rural mail carrier with the Doylestown Post Office from 1977 until 1982.
He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II with the 80th Division Recon Troop-Third Army under General George Patton.
Larry was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 175 and the American Legion, Post 210, both of Doylestown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Robert W. Gular and his wife, Linda of Norristown; J. Wayne Gular and his wife, Gloria, of Belen, New Mexico; Lawrence E. Gular and his wife, Amy, of Perkasie; eight grandchildren: Susan, Michael, Herbert, LeAnne, J.C., Dana, Elizabeth, and Courtney; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Lauren.
Private graveside services will be held in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.
