Thomas J. Goodwin, 44, of Souderton, formerly of Hilltown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 1, in Abington Memorial Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Carole A. (Turnock) Goodwin, Hilltown and the late Wesley F. Goodwin, Jr.
He was a 1978 graduate of Pennridge High School, where he was on the football, wrestling and track teams.
Tom was a self-employed general contractor for over 15 years. Previously, he had been employed for Schoellkopf's Floor Covering, Sellersville and Pedersen Contracting Company, Red Hill.
He was a member of the Perkasie Owl's Club.
An avid car enthusiast, Tom enjoyed repairing cars. He was a great friend to many and will be sadly missed by all.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by five brothers: James W. Goodwin, of Souderton; Robert F. Goodwin and his wife, Susan, of Sellersville; Richard S. Goodwin and his wife, Susan, of Hilltown; Daniel J. Goodwin and his wife, Valerie, of Doylestown; Michael L. Goodwin and his wife, Krista, of Canadensis, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Goodwin and Janice Reilly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 6, at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Route 152 and Broad Street, Hilltown. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening, October 5, from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville and on Wednesday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Route 152 and Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927 or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814.
