Gertrude H. (Hockman) Godshall

April 15, 1913 — February 7, 2005

Gertrude H. "Graggy" Godshall, 91, of Quakertown, formerly of Sellersville, passed away Monday, February 7, in Quakertown Center - Genesis Eldercare, Quakertown. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Godshall, Jr., who died in 1974.

Born in New Galena, PA, she was the daughter of the late William K. and Mary (Freed) Hockman.

She was a retired seamstress with the former Industrial Safety Company, Sellersville, and previously had been employed for many years with the former Lutz Clothing Factory, Sellersville.

Mrs. Godshall was a member of Rocky Ridge Mennonite Church, Quakertown.

A cancer survivor herself, she was the oldest participant in the 1987 Relay For Life, a fund raising race for cancer research, held in Quakertown. Mrs. Godshall had always enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by her three children: Charles W. Godshall and his wife, Dorothy, of Bradenton, Florida; Mary Lou Nyce and her husband, Harold, of Quakertown; Robert B. Godshall and his wife, Rose, of Perkasie; one brother, Claude Hockman, of Doylestown; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dorothy Eileen, and two brothers, George and Walter Hockman.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, February 11 at 11 :00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Friday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Ridge Mennonite Church, 114 Rocky Ridge Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
