Paul A. "Chic" Gerhart, 91, of the Lutheran Community at Telford, formerly of Sellersville and Souderton, passed away Saturday morning, November 9, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the husband of Beatrice V. (Haring) Gerhart. They were married 68 years last June.
Born in Lansdale, he was the son of the late Andrew and Lillie (Godshall) Gerhart.
He had been a resident of Sellersville for 68 years before recently relocating to the Lutheran Community at Telford.
Mr. Gerhart was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He had participated in the Normandy invasion and had earned five Bronze Stars.
Before he entered the service, he had been employed as a knitting machine operator for the former Dexdale Hosiery Mill, Lansdale. After discharge from the Army, he had been a milkman in the Quakertown area for over 25 years with the former Hoffman Dairy, Telford. He also had been employed by the former Moyer Dairy, Perkasie.
He was a longtime member of St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where had served as an usher.
He was also a member and past president of the Sellersville Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Dorothy Jacoby-Fisher and her husband, Horace Fisher, Souderton; two nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Dorn, Bernice Jacoby and Mildred Gerhart.
His Memorial Service will be held Wednesday morning, November 13 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of St. Michael's Ev. Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.
