Catherine G. Gallagher, of Sellersville, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was 81.
She was the beloved wife of John M. Gallagher. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on October 9.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late P. Ray and Catherine (Faber) Brown. She was a 1942 graduate of John W. Hallahan High School, Philadelphia.
She had lived in Sellersville for the last 20 years.
A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Gallagher had been employed for 10 years as a clerk with the former Pennsylvania Railroad, Philadelphia.
She was a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.
Mrs. Gallagher was an avid walker, who enjoyed shopping at the Reading Outlets. She loved listening to Philadelphia Phillies games, and she loved living in Sellersville. Most of all, she was a devoted grandmom, who loved her dear grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: John M. Gallagher Jr., of Valley Lee, MD.; Peter L. Gallagher and his wife, Eloise, of San Diego, CA; and Leo R. Gallagher and his wife, Susan, of Brigantine, NJ.; seven grandchildren, Jacklyn, Megan, Kerri Leigh, Ciaran, Brian, Michael and Seamus; one sister, Sarah Milner, of New York, NY; and her cousin, Joan Murphy, and her husband, Ed, of Lansdale.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 21, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main St., Sellersville, where family and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Friday.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
