Margaret B. Freiler, of Willow Grove, passed away Wednesday, October 29, in Abington Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Christian J. Freiler. They were married 67 years. She was 86.
Born in Duncott, (Schuylkill County) PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose Hraedel.
She and her husband had lived in Philadelphia in the 1940's and later moved to Willow Grove, where she had lived for over 50 years.
Mrs. Freiler had worked for many years as grocery checkout person for the former Bethayres Supermarket, Bethayres. Previously, she had been employed as a machine operator with the former DeLong Hook and Eye Factory, Philadelphia.
She was a member for over 50 years of St. David's Roman Catholic Church, Willow Grove.
Mrs. Freiler loved classical music, flowers, birds, animals and all nature. She was also an avid reader and walker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Philip C. Freiler and his wife, Rita, of Roslyn, PA and Jim Freiler and his wife, Rachel, of Missouri City, Texas; one daughter, Lorraine R. Lapetina and her husband, Michael, of Hilltown Township; one brother, John Novotny, and one sister, Anne Keating, both of Orwigsburg, PA; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Veronica, Rose and Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning, November 4, at 10:30 AM in St. David's R.C. Church, 316 North Easton Road, Willow Grove. Family and friends may call Tuesday morning at the church from 9:30 AM until 10: 15 AM.
Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, 625 West Ridge Pike, Suite A 100, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
