Mary Alice (Steeley) Fosbenner

December 27, 1921 — January 31, 2004

Mary Alice Fosbenner, formerly of Sellersville and Perkasie, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2004, in the Lutheran Community at Telford. She was 82.

She was the wife of Harry F. Fosbenner, who died in 2000.

Born in Perkasie, she was a daughter of the late Jonas D. and Mary Ellen (Ott) Steeley. She was a graduate of the former Sell-Perk High School and had lived in Sellersville for more than 40 years before moving to the Lutheran Community in 2001.

Mrs. Fosbenner had been employed as a seamstress for many years with the former Wispee's in Perkasie before retiring in 1986. Previously, she had worked in the butcher department of the former C. D. Moyer Co., in Silverdale.

She was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she had been a member of the sewing circle. She had also been a former den mother with the Cub Scouts.

Mrs. Fosbenner enjoyed needlecrafts, but the joy of her life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Beach, and her husband, Jim, of Sellersville; her sons: Neil H. Fosbenner and his wife, MaryAnn, of Perkasie, and J. Christopher Fosbenner and his wife, Cindy, of Quakertown; six grandchildren: Jeremy, Tammy, Steph, Travis, Joshua and Adam; her brother, Jacob A. Steeley, of Sellersville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark F. Fosbenner, who died in. 2001; her brothers, Edwin, William, and Benjamin Steeley; and her sisters, Elizabeth V Steeley and Maggie M Steeley.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 5, in St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dill Avenue and Chestnut Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be in St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Fellowship of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 257, Perkasie, PA 18944.
