Ralph L. Fluck, a lifelong resident of Perkasie, passed away suddenly Monday, September 27, 2004, in his residence. He was 82.
He was the beloved husband of Betty O. (Frey) Fluck, who died December 2, 2000.
Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Samuel and Sally. (Hunsicker) Fluck.
Mr. Fluck was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theater during World War II.
He retired in 1984, having worked for more than 30 years as a rural mail carrier for the Perkasie Post Office.' He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association. He also was employed for many years as a plumber with the former Frantz Plumbing Co. in Perkasie.
He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Perkasie, where he had served as an usher and church council member and had helped with Bible school. He served as a leader for Boy Scouts of America with the church's troop. He was also a long time volunteer with Pennridge FISH organization.
Mr. Fluck was a 42-year member of the American Legion, Hartzell Crouthamel Post 280, Perkasie and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Forrest Lodge Post 245, Sellersville.
He enjoyed gardening and staying up with current events and news.
Mr. Fluck is survived by his sons, R. Barry Fluck and his wife, Donna, of Crystal Lake,Ill., and N. James Fluck and his wife, JoAnn, of Philadelphia; a daughter, Betty L. Kmetz, of Harleysville; five grandchildren: Patrick, Michael, Amy, Sarah, and Matthew; two great grandsons, Graham and Ethan, and one sister, Mildred Barndt, of Sellersville.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 2, in St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dill Avenue and Chestnut Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
