Edwin Abner Cappel

Edwin Abner Cappel, of Sellersville, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, in Liberty Point Nursing Home, Doylestown. He was the husband of the late Irene Marie (Morgan) Cappel, with whom he had shared 54 years of marriage until her death in 2014. He was 89.

Born in Lavelle, PA, he was a son of the late Abner and Bertha (Wetzel) Cappel.

After graduating from high school, Edwin worked as a welder and then later as a supervisor for Standard Press Steel in Hatfield, PA, until his retirement.

An avid golfer, Edwin had also enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, fishing, reading the morning newspaper, and outdoor grilling. He was especially known for his amazing barbecue chicken.

He is survived by one son, Edwin Cappel, and his wife Tracy, of Schwenksville, PA; two daughters: Cynthia Cappel, of Doylestown, and Theresa Cressman and her husband Todd, of Sellersville; six grandchildren: Macayla, Madison, Callie, Chris, Tom, and David; and five great-grandchildren: Ryan, Nolan, Adison, Cecily, and Edmond.

His Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, September 4, 2026, in Sellersville Cemetery, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
