Edwin Abner Cappel

Edwin Abner Cappel, age 89, of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Liberty Point Nursing Home in Doylestown, PA. He was the husband of the late Irene Marie (Morgan) Cappel, who died in 2014, and with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Lavelle, PA, he was a son of the late Abner Cappel and the late Bertha (Wetzel) Cappel.

After graduating from high school, Edwin worked as a welder and then later as a supervisor for Standard Press Steel in Hatfield, PA, all the way through to his retirement.

Edwin enjoyed golf, gardening, deer hunting, fishing, reading the morning newspaper, outdoor grilling, and was especially known for his amazing barbecue chicken.

Survivors include one son, Edwin Cappel and his wife, Tracy of Schwenksville, PA; two daughters, Cynthia Cappel of Doylestown, PA, and Theresa Cressman and her husband, Todd of Sellersville, PA; six grandchildren, Macayla, Madison, Callie, Chris, Tom, and David; and five great-grandkids, Ryan, Nolan, Adison, Cecily, and Edmond.
