Patrick T. Donohue

July 11, 1923 — February 26, 2004

Patrick T. Donohue, 80, of Telford, formerly of Ambler and Sellersville, passed away Thursday, February 26, at his residence in Grundy Manor, Telford. He was the husband of the late Margaret A. (Raub) Donohue, who died in 2000.

Born in the Bronx, New York City, he was a son of the late Patrick T. and Mary (Mahoney) Donohue.

He moved to Sellersville as a teenager and lived there for over 20 years before moving to Ambler, where he spent 33 years until moving to Telford about three years ago.

Mr. Donohue was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during World War II. He was an airplane Instrument mechanic with the 504th Bomber Squadron. He attended every reunion of the Bomber Squadron.

Patrick had been employed for many years as a school bus driver with the Upper Dublin School District before retiring. He had previously worked for the U.S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., and had been a manager of the Washington House Restaurant, both in Sellersville.

He was a longtime member of S1. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.

He also had served on the Ambler Borough Council in the 1970's.

Patrick was a 50 year member of the American Legion, Nase-Kraft Post No. 255, Sellersville, where he served on the Board of Directors and was Historian and past Commander. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Forrest Lodge; and the Loyal of Order of Moose # 1539, both in Sellersville; the VFW Military Order of the Cootie and the Last Man's Club.

He is survived by one daughter, Margaret A. Verdecchio, and her husband, Robert N., of Wyncote; one brother: Peter Donohue, of Palmetto, Florida; two sisters: Catherine Vogler, of Philadelphia, and Marianne Myers, of Lansdale; five grandchildren: Michael, Jessica and Rebecca Verdecchio; Danielle and Jacqueline Harley, all of Wyncote; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte L. Harley; two brothers: Jerome and Michael Donohue and a sister, Eleanor Kachline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, March 3, at 10:00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening, March 2, from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Sellersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, Nase­ Kraft Post No. 255, 75 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
