David J. Hudack

David J. Hudack, of Oreland, PA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, August 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 71.

Born in West Rockhill, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Christabel M. (Warne) Hudack.

David was a 1973 graduate of Pennridge High School, in Perkasie. He then pursued his passion for science at Montgomery County Community College, where he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering.

He went on to build a fulfilling, lifelong career as a chemist at Johnson & Johnson, where he remained until his retirement.

An avid outdoorsman, David spent much of his free time in the wilderness. His passion for hunting and fishing began early in life, and he was happiest when behind a scope tracking a big buck or working in the woods alongside his beloved first dog, “Brandie,” hunting for birds.

Dave was an accomplished, competitive shooter and shared his expertise by serving as a weapons instructor for the Philadelphia Police Department. Later in life, he maintained his active interests as a member of the NRA and the Harley Owners Group (HOG), giving back to his local neighborhood by serving as HOG President for several years.

Above all else, David treasured his family. He held a deeply special place in his heart for his beloved wife, Lorelei, with whom he had shared many wonderful years of love and devotion.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, David Engle, and his wife Michelle; his stepson, Edward Garlock, and his wife Megan; and his six cherished grandchildren: Kayleigh, Corbin, Hayden, Braxton, Cadence, and Bailey.

All are invited to David’s visitation on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m., at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, Ltd., 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. A private funeral service and burial will be held in New York State.
