Edna G. Crouthamel, 86, of Quakertown, formerly of Sellersville, passed away Saturday, September 4, in LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford Township (Quakertown). She was the wife of the late Charles E. Crouthamel, who died in 1991.
Born in Souderton, she was a daughter of the late William Benner and Emma (Lewis) Godshall.
Mrs. Crouthamel had lived in Sellersville most of her life until moving into LifeQuest in 1998.
She was a LPN, graduating from Bucks County Community College. For over thirty years, she had been employed in the first aid department of the U.S. Gauge Division of Ametek, Inc., Sellersville, before retiring in 1983. She later worked for the Community Services Home, Sellersville, assisting with Down Syndrome children.
She was a member of St. Michael's Ev. Lutheran Church, Sellersville.
She had volunteered at Grand View Hospital for many years. She had also volunteered for the Democratic Party and Common Cause.
She is survived by one daughter, Julie A. Bartholomew, of Bethlehem; one son, Thomas C. Crouthamel and his wife, Kathleen M., of West Newton (Westmoreland County), PA; four grandchildren: Cheryl, Kellie, Kevin and Donna; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sister Joyce Elizabeth Godshall ,of Castleton, NY; one brother, William Walter Godshall, of Southampton; and her companion, Warren Huff, of Sellersville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Marie Crouthamel, who died in 2003.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 11, at 11 :00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will be private in Sellersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Grand View Hospital, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 or the Alzheimer' s Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, Robert Morris Building, 100 North 17th Street, 4th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103 or the charity of one's choice.
