Edward B. Conkling

August 7, 1930 — January 31, 2000

Edward B. Conkling, 69, of Hilltown, formerly of Hatfield Township, passed away Monday, January 31, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township, after being stricken suddenly at his home. He was the husband of Amelia A. (Rims) Conkling. They celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on December 10, 1999.

Born in Cuba, he was the son of the late Frank and Leona Conkling. He came to the United States at the age of 4 years and lived in Lebanon, PA with his parents. He lived in Hatfield Township for many years before moving to Hilltown ten years ago with his wife.

He was employed as a machinist for 36 years with the former Teleflex (Triumph Controls Inc.), North Wales, before retiring in 1993.

Mr. Conkling was a former pilot and had flown his own plane. He was also an avid world traveler, who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was an Episcopalian by faith.

Mr. Conkling was a 30 year member of the Branch Valley Fish & Game Club, Perkasie and a former member of the Philadelphia Glider Council, Hilltown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother,Frank Conkling, Jr., and his wife, Harriet, of Evansville, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service to be held Sunday evening, February 6, at 7:00 PM in St. Andrew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Dill Avenue & Chestnut Street, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, One Plymouth Meeting, Suite 520, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 or the American Heart Association, 625 West Ridge Pike, Suite A 100, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
