Rose M. Cassell, 78, of East Rockhill Township, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, September 21, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Cassell, Sr., who died in 1998.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles F., Sr. and Elizabeth (Insall) Keller.
A homemaker most of her life, Rose had been employed as a ship-fitter's helper at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, where she proudly worked on the Battleship New Jersey. Also, in her early years, she had been a riveter for REPCO, Philadelphia, and later, she drove cars for the former Todd Motors, Telford, and the Hatfield Auto Auction, Hatfield.
She was a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.
Rose loved to play bingo and go to the casinos. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and dance roller-skating.
She is survived by her two daughters: Rose Marie Maria and her life partner, J.R. Rothermel, of East Rockhill Township; Shirley Pugh and her husband, Charles, of Sumneytown; one son, Joseph J. Cassell, Jr. of East Rockhill Township; seven grandchildren: Anthony, Michelle, Donna, Jennifer, Joanne, Jacqueline and James; four great-grandchildren: Bree-Ann, Alexandrea, Sydney and Ashton; two brothers: Harry Keller and his wife, Lillian, of Quakertown; Joseph G. Keller and his wife, Nancy, of Harrisburg; three sisters: Elizabeth Wasser, Ida M. Keller and Mary Cain, all of East Rockhill Township.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Keller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 24, at 10:00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 8:30 AM until 9:50 AM in the church.
Interment will be in the adjacent parish cemetery.
