Fred Burdick, 80, of Perkasie, formerly of Bedminster, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 3. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline (Vandereedt) Burdick, who died May 12, 2002.
Born on February 4, 1924, in Brewster, NY, he was the son of the late Frederick and Florence (Rauth) Burdick. He had lived in Bedminster for over 43 years and the last 10 years in Perkasie.
Fred owned and operated the largest poultry farm in Bucks County from 1948 until the late 1950's. He later was employed by the US Gauge Division, Ametek Inc., Sellersville, before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Kellers Church, Bedminster.
Fred had enjoyed bowling and golf in his earlier years and had traveled extensively in the U.S. with his wife, after retirement. A World War II buff, he enjoyed meeting friends every week at the Elephant Hotel.
He is survived by two daughters: Linda L. Burdick, of Perkasie; Patricia A. Burdick, of Smithfield, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Friday evening, October 8, from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM at the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville and on Saturday afternoon, October 9, at the funeral home, from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM, when a brief eulogy will be delivered.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
