Michael Brickajlik, 84, of the Lutheran Community at Telford, formerly of Hilltown Township, passed away Saturday, April 3, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the husband of Molly (Brown) Brickajlik for 57 years.
Born in Mt. Union, PA, he was the first son of the late John and Mary (Necapor) Brickajlik. He had lived in Philadelphia until the age of 12, when his family moved to a farm in Silverdale.
He had attended Hilltown schools and graduated from Souderton High School in 1938. Along with his brother, John, he had owned and operated a used farm equipment business in Silverdale before retiring in 1992. Previously, he and his brother had owned a farm produce business in Silverdale, along with their father.
Mike was a true lover of the land. He especially cherished his farm in Hilltown Township where he and his wife had lived since 1953 before relocating to the Lutheran Community last June.
He was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Dublin for over 40 years, where he had served on Church Council and the Property Committee. He was also the Sunday School Treasurer for many years.
Mike had also enjoyed reading and was an avid Phillies fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, M. Scott Brickajlik and his wife, Jeanne (Scanlon); one daughter,Susan Brickajlik and her companion, Dr. Walter Drill, all of Hilltown Township; one granddaughter, Natalie Brickajlik, of New York City; three brothers; two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Philip, who died in 1992.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 7, at 11 :00 AM in St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church, Route 313 and Quarry Road, Dublin, PA. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until time of service.
Interment will be in St. Luke's Union Cemetery, Dublin.
