Violet M. "Pat" Blackwell, 91, formerly of Sellersville and Perkasie, died Tuesday, October II, 2005, in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was the wife of the late Malvin H. Blackwell, who died in 1984.
Born in Silverdale, she was the daughter of the late Howard F. and Elizabeth R. (Rappold) Crouthamel.
Pat was a homemaker most of her life, but she was actively involved with the Sellersville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a member for over 50 years, serving as treasurer and in other offices.
She was a lifetime member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she had served on the Altar Guild and Prayer Chain.
She was a member of the American Red Cross, running the Canteen in Upper Bucks County. She also was a member of the Pennridge Senior Center and the SAAC, Souderton.
An avid reader, Pat enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking and traveling, especially to Europe.
She is survived by a daughter, Lonnie McDonald, and her husband, Joseph W., of Sellersville; one grandson, Jeffrey M. McDonald, of Sellersville; and two sisters: E. Marie Clemmer, of Telford; and Sara A. "Dolly" Drissel, and her husband, Samuel, of Turnersville, N.J.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and four sisters: Hilda R. Gehman, Grace C. Gross, Jean R. Compton and Elizabeth M. Binsberger.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 15, in St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.
Interment was in St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
