Grace R. (Renninger) Benner
January 31, 1909 — March 17, 2006
Grace R. Benner, 97, of Philadelphia, formerly of Lansdale, passed away Friday, March 17, in Paul's Run Nursing Center, Philadelphia. She was the beloved wife of the late George M. Benner.
Born in Milford, she was the daughter the late Justus T. and Sarah Jane (Bowman) Renninger. She had lived in Philadelphia since 1951.
A homemaker most of her life, she had owned and operated a grocery store in Philadelphia. She later was employed as an office worker in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Benner was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Philadelphia.
She is survived by her son, John D. Benner, and his wife, Margaret, of Niceville, Florida; two daughters: Sarah Kolb ,of Philadelphia, and Helen Bonaceto,of Norwood, Massachusetts; six grandchildren: John Benner; Robert Benner, Deborah Vogelpohl; Margaret Kolb, Joseph Kolb, Jr.; and Susan Bonaceto; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph and Earl Renninger.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, March 23, at 11:00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Thursday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery.
