Harriet Irene Barbour

Harriet Irene Barbour, 64, of Allentown, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

She was the beloved wife of Ronald Barbour for 41 years.

Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of Elizabeth T. (Sobolewski) Hallman, formerly of Sellersville, and the late Harry D. Hallman. Harriet was a 1975 graduate of Pennridge High School.

Harriet had been employed by the former C.D. Moyer Company, Silverdale, and Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, Chalfont.

An avid, talented baker, Harriet had also enjoyed playing cards. She especially loved spending time with her family. Her big heart drew many people into her life, and she made friends wherever she went.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her sons, Richard, Franklin, and Charles; sisters: Sandra Morgan (John), Fay Preston (Harry), Nancy Huttenlock, Barbara Detweiler, Christine Applegate (Andrew), Bette Miller, Rosehanna Mays (Steve), and Sharon Hallman; brothers, Gerald (Eloise) Harry (Kathleen), and Stanley (Tammy); numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Landis.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, George Huttenlock and David Detweiler.

A visitation will be held from 9 - 9:45 AM, Wednesday, March 10, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main St., Sellersville, PA 18960, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harriet’s name may be made to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, P.O. Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352.
