Launa F. Ballengee, 94, of Perkasie, formerly of Richmond, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 6, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Rondeau P. Ballengee.
Born in Alderson, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Clownie W. and Anna (Boyd) Flint. She had spent most of her life in West Virginia. She had lived in Perkasie for the last 11 years, and prior to that, 26 years in Richmond, VA.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ballengee had volunteered for many years with the Braille Library in Richmond.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Sellersville.
She loved to bake and became popular with her famous chocolate and coconut cakes.
Mrs. Ballengee is survived by her daughter, Davina Kay Martin, and her husband, Joseph P., Perkasie; five grandchildren: Richard Keith Ballengee, Murfreesboro, TN; Patricia Ann Johnson, Ruffsdale, PA; John Richard Martin, Pennsburg; Michael David Martin, Westerville, OH; and Jason Andrew Martin, Hagatna, Guam; nine great-grandchildren: Wes Johnson, Melanie Johnson, Cristin Johnson, Carley Johnson, Zachary Grey Martin, Megan Brelynne Martin, Sydney Leigh Martin, Owen Michael Martin, and Kelli Warren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Perry Ballengee.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, at 2:30 PM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Restwood Cemetery, West Virginia.
